I was born and brought up on a farm near Narberth in Pembrokeshire. Having lived away for many years, I returned back home to West Wales with my partner Nikki in 2004, we live on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border in the small village of Llanfallteg.
I have always had a love of wood and I am a carpenter by trade.
My interest in Driftwood began when my eldest daughter bought us a driftwood gift one Christmas.
We have always constructed driftwood trees on the beaches when out walking the coastal path, but now we return home with rucksacks full of driftwood.
Another source of driftwood is from the River Taf close to our home where we walk regularly. River driftwood tends to be darker and rougher than the beach driftwood but just as beautiful, and I have made some unusual sculptural pieces from it.
I like to keep the driftwood as natural as possible so it is left to dry out over long periods of time. I do not polish or varnish the wood, in fact you may sometimes find sand or dried river mud still on some pieces.
Each creation I make is unique, ensuring that no two pieces are ever the same.
If you would like more information or have a specific design in mind please do call or e-mail me.
Because of the delicate nature of some of the pieces it is not always possible to ship them via post, so collection or delivery may have to be arranged.
